Improving at chess is less about heroic study marathons and more about showing up regularly. That is exactly what our new feature does: training sessions on a schedule. You tell Kingside when you want to study — it prepares a lesson and reminds you when it's time.
What a session is
A session is not a list of links to random exercises. It is a personal interactive lesson assembled from your own games. Connect your chess.com or lichess account, or upload PGN files, and Kingside looks at how you actually play: which tactical motifs you miss, where your endgame technique leaks, which openings keep going wrong. Those weak spots become the steps of your lesson — theory, puzzles, quizzes and positions to play out — plus a short homework block. You study your chess, not a generic curriculum.
Set the schedule — the rest is automatic
Create a training in Settings → Training schedule, give it a name and a focus, and add time slots: which days, what time, how long. Before each slot Kingside builds a fresh lesson and sends a notification — "Training “Endgames” — your session is ready". Open the Study page, press Start, and go through the lesson right on the board.
Flexible by design
One rhythm rarely fits a whole week, so the schedule bends to yours:
- up to five named trainings — say Tactics, Endgames, Openings — each with its own focus
